Gayle Brock earned a masters’ degree in exercise physiology from the University of Cincinnati and license in medical massage therapy from SSHI. Also earned are certifications in leadership coaching, minority executive development institute and executive mentoring. She has served as trainer and faculty for subject areas including Supervision, Volunteerism, Group Work, Diversity and Inclusion, Training Others, Organizational Skills, Time Management and Problem Solving-Conflict Resolution. In addition to serving in the role of trainer, Gayle takes pleasure in curriculum development targeting program initiatives for non-profits as well as developing seminar/workshop formats in the for-profit sector.
Gayle’s experience includes 24 plus years as executive director of YMCA facilities as well as in executive management positions. Following local Y work, she served 10 years with the national YMCA of the USA (headquartered - Chicago, Ill) as Leadership Development Consultant guiding Executives/CEOs and key association board members for the states of PA, MD, DE and Washington DC. Focus areas were leadership development, program/facility/membership development, staff/professional development, diversity & inclusion and global initiatives. Role expansion included national director of the Y Achievers program leading staff directors’ implementation of higher education initiatives, resulting in Ys improving high school graduation and college access rates of students nation-wide. Also, Youth Development Specialist guiding program leaders and executives nation-wide in nurturing the potential of youth and teens by building outcome-based quality programming.
Experienced in both local & international work, Gayle Brock is a leader who believes that being a developer of others as well as ones-self is a driving force for unleashing the power of excellence from within. In fostering that belief, her global experience includes International Leadership Institute in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Brazil as well as leader of an annual mission trip of the Jamaica Children’s Fund organization.
Gayle Brock’s local, national and international professional experiences in personnel and organizational development have provided her career perspectives that are of great benefit to the entry level worker, new professional, mid-level to seasoned executive directors and CEOs in both profit and not-for-profit organizations.
